Junior Open Cross Country Races 

A series of four cross country fixtures for primary school pupils, years 4 & 5, plus years 6 & 7 for high school pupils.
The purpose of the series is to increase participation in cross country in the district. West Cheshire AC is keen to promote all areas of athletics and is determined to establish school-club links with primary and secondary schools within Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston.

Cheshire Oaks High School, Ellesmere Port. 

Time:   Race Order:           
10am start  Year 4   Boys & Girls    1 Large Lap    <1.4Km 
  Year 5   Boys & Girls    2 Small Laps     1.6Km 
  Year 6   Boys & Girls    1 Small Lap + 1 Large Lap    <2.2Km 
  Year 7   Boys & Girls    2 Large Laps    <2.75Km 

If there are enough entrants for an age group the boys and girls will run in seperate races.

Each participating school should provide a representative/team manager at each round to register their competitors before receiving a race number.

The number must be pinned to the front of their school vest/T-Shirt.

Awards:

Medals will be presented to the first three finishers in each race.
The first four finishers from each school in each race will count towards a team score, add up the finishing positions. 
The team competition is over the four-rounds, with each team score being added to the previous total after each fixture.
Awards will also be presented to the top three finishers overall in each age group after four rounds.
